Calling All Au Pairs: Finally, a way to earn all the Continuing Education Units (CEUs) needed to satisfy your educational requirements without wasting your time in the classroom. Working with the University of Central Florida,

The Study Adventure Treks Program: The Study Adventure Treks program is run through our Adventure Tours. You can select either our seven (7) day Adventure Tour, Florida Cruisin' or our fourteen (14) day Adventure Tour, The Floridian, to enroll in the program. Each tour qualifies for at least ten (10) credits, more than you need for one entire au pair year. The tour itineraries are the same whether you enroll in the program or not. If enrolling you need only satisfy Program Requirements to earn your credits.

Program Requirements:
Our philosophy is "learn by experience" - we want the learning process to be hands-on and exciting. We also want you to actively participate in all the activities that are planned for your tour. The more you are involved, the more you will take away from your experience. To earn your CEUs, you will have to satisfy the following:

1. Daily Journal - Each day you will keep a daily journal (we provide the journal for you) reflecting upon your experiences and what you learned throughout the day based on tour leader speeches, informational pamphlets, activities, and presentations by experts. A typical journal entry will consist of two (2) handwritten pages per day.

2. Group Presentation - During the course of your tour, groups up to four (4) passengers will give a short presentation discussing a topic dealing with the history, culture, wildlife, or nature of Florida.

3. Final Report - On the final day of your tour you will prepare a short report on a topic related to your tour that interests you the most. The report should be between 2-3 pages, consisting of facts you learned during your tour and the impact it has had on you.

4. Evaluation Form - Finally, you will be required to complete an evaluation form provided by UCF.
Enrolling in the Program:
Once you select your Adventure Tour and departure date, proceed to our booking form. Please select enrollment in the Study Adventure Treks program and remember to also select your 10% Au Pair Discount. A certificate fee of $25 will be added to the tour price.

Departure Dates & Costs:
Since the Study Adventure Treks program is run through our Adventure Tours, the departure dates are the same as those listed under our Adventure Tours. When enrolling in the program, the tour price will be calculated by taking the full price of the tour, subtracting 1) the $500 host family contribution & 2) the 10% Au Pair Discount, and adding the $25 certification fee. The seven day Florida Cruisin', starting at $650, ends up costing you $110.
Program Completion:
At the completion of your Study Adventure Trek, you will give your tour leader a copy of your 1) daily journal, 2) final report, and 3) evaluation form. We will mail your materials to the University of Central Florida - you will then receive your certificate in the mail about four (4) weeks from the completion of your Study Adventure Trek. It's as easy as that - simply register for one of our Adventure Tours and we'll do the rest!
